OneNote on Mac stuck trying to make recent update 2016

OneNote trying to update most recent version as of 25 Feb 2016 to Mac.  Mac is stuck!  OneNote is frozen on screen without capability to kill update.  How get control of OneNote to stop and reinstall new update?  thx, sdm

What solved this problem was force quit of OneNote.  Then de-installing OneNote from Mac to include putting com.microsoft.onenote folder into trash.  Then reinstalling OneNote.  Thanks, sdm

Force quit onenote and try installing the update from a different office application.
If it still doesn't work, restart the machine and try again.
Truth is still truth, even if you don't believe in it.
