Dear OneDrive users,
We have been made aware of an issue concerning shared folders on OneDrive, where certain shared folders are displayed as .URL Internet shortcuts rather than actual folders within the "File Explorer". This has resulted in users being unable to browse the contents of these folders and instead are provided with a link to the OneDrive website.
Impacted users:
Users globally have reported this issue, where shared folders appear as link files (.URL) in File Explorer and not as actual folders, preventing normal browsing of folder contents.
Specific Issues:
Users can view shared folders through the OneDrive web interface but are only presented with a link to the OneDrive website in File Explorer.
Shared folders cannot be synced to local devices, disrupting workflows and preventing offline access to files.
