Hi, I have been stuck on a problem that onedrive keeps creating the alias instead of the original folder on my mac. I'm sure i have put the correct path name for the onedrive folder and checked the correct one. For instance, the onedrive folder is /Users/username/OneDrive - contoso
However, it shows an alias under the above correct folder, while the original onedrive folder is here /Users/username/Library/CloudStorage/OneDrive-contoso
onedrive creates an alias on mac by default under the correct path

Dear Mao,
Regarding the alias the OneDrive sync folder creates, could you upload some screenshots showing the alias issue in your environment for our confirmation?
Note: Remove the private information before uploading the screenshots.
Meanwhile, check whether you have set multiple sync folders before completing the sync.
Best Regards,
Cliff

I have the same issue.
I want to synchronize onedrive with a secondary drive which is in /Volumes/OneDrive Sync
However, instead of using that drive, it creates the real folder in the folder /Users/username/Library/CloudStorage/OneDrive and places an alias in the secondary drive.
As a result, the system drive gets full and my computer stops working properly.
How can I setup onedrive to be synced in the folder /Volumes/OneDrive sync?

Here you can see the Alias in the secondary drive, and the alias properties.
Any clue on how to fix this will be highly appreciated!

My issue is that I don't want to see these alias folders in my user folder. If I delete the alias folders the only come back when I reboot. This is very annoying. I don't have a sync folder like the rest of the users here but I can understand their pain. Please come out with an update that removes these alias folders. Why not create a pop up that shows you were the new OneDrive is located shortly after the app is updated????

Hello,
Since upgrading to the latest MacOs and the betas, I have the same issue. I use onedrive on an intel macbook pro.
I've deleted all the files related to onedrive in the library and on my hdd, i've tried the reset script contained in the resources of the app. I've rebooted, tried everything, but the issue is still the same. I have 2 onedrive folders one for work, one for home.
I have this alias in my home folder and a cloud icon in library/cloudstorage.
Deleted all the prefs files, everything I could find containing 'onedrive' in its name. Still the same issue.

this is the same problem I have. Initially the folder was a solid folder and not an alias, however after installing office 365 and logging in with a work email, the original one drive location was changed to an alias.

This suddenly happened to me today as well. The real problem for me is that files in aliases folders are not available in Adobe. This is a deal breaker for me. I will have to unsubscribe to OneDrive and use another cloud software.

I have this same issue. Why was this change put in place? I want it back to the old way where I got to choose where my files were kept. This is ridiculous!
