OneDrive bug: The tag present in the reparse point buffer is invalid.

I'm trying to "robocopy /MIR source target" to update a folder within my OneDrive for business folder and I'm getting this strange error:

2021/02/24 16:04:10 ERROR 4393 (0x00001129) Accessing Destination Directory C:\Users\lovet\OneDrive - L***** ********\Finances\paystubs\2020\

The tag present in the reparse point buffer is invalid.

Hi Chris,

The message: "The tag present in the reparse point buffer is invalid" indicates that some of those junction files are likely in a damaged state, this could happen if OneDrive had crashed or terminated improperly at some point.

Usually this can be fixed by following these steps:
1. Open command Prompt as an Administrator
2. Type in chkdsk c: /r /f
3. When command prompt asks to answer Y/N, answer Y and allow disk check. (Note: If your system drive is different, then replace it with your drive letter e.g. put a d: instead of a c:)
4. Restart PC, allow the disk check to run. Log back into your PC and then delete the folder or file.

If it did not work for you, try rebooting into safe mode (hold shift and click on restart).

Best regards,
Madoc
