OneDrive app on my iPhone is seeing only folders shared in SharePoint, not OneDrive Business folders for same account

Is the OneDrive app on iPhone not capable of displaying files from a OneDrive for Business share? I had some folders and files shared via SharePoint that are visible in the app. But the folders that are shared via OneDrive are not available at all. I can't navigate to that directory at all, it doesn't appear. I'm logged into the same account on all devices, and that account is the owner of the files and folders I'm talking about.

I've had a lot of trouble trying to implement SharePoint to move my server files to the cloud, and I wish I had never gone that route. I am trying to undo some of that and simply set up a OneDrive for Business environment for the server files, and so I have been moving folders around a bit. I'm an old-time IT guy and from my perspective it just seems that SharePoint is trying to be too many things all in one. I don't know what the attraction is to an app that tries to do everything, rather than a suite of apps that would work together. Anyway, that's beyond the scope of my question! Should I be able to see OneDrive files as well as SharePoint files in the app? The app is called OneDrive, but that in my experience doesn't mean much.

Thanks.

Dear Keith Gardner,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

As per your description, it seems that you are using OneDrive iOS app, however, filed shared from OneDrive are not listed under Shared section in OneDrive, only files and folders shared from SharePoint are listed.

If the understanding above is right, generally, files located in OneDrive of the account that signed in will be listed under Files section in OneDrive iOS app, and all files shared with the account (no matter from OneDrive or SharePoint) will be listed under the Shared section in OneDrive iOS app. For your reference: Share files in OneDrive for iOS - Microsoft Support

We've also done a quick test, the file shared from internal user's OneDrive appear in the Shared section in OneDrive iOS app on our side, below is the screenshot of our test for your reference:

Below attached are the general troubleshooting steps for OneDrive iOS app for your reference:

  1. Reset OneDrive by navigating to Settings > OneDrive > Reset > Clear Account Settings.

  2. Uninstall and reinstall OneDrive.

If the issue still persists after the above steps, we do understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it. There's a possibility that issue is with the backend service that might need to be checked from background.

As forum support, we may not have enough permission and resource to directly check the environment from background.

In this situation, we sincerely recommend you contact your Microsoft 365 administrator, follow steps in this article to contact Online Support. The support team over there has higher permission than us, they can remotely help check the situation on your side, involve more resource to collect logs and help you do troubleshoot. This would be a more efficient way in handling this case for you.

If the scenario above is not consistent with yours, you can also post back and point that.

Your patience and understanding are highly appreciated. We hope that you are keeping safe and well!
