One Drive on OS X Yosemite - file system case sensitivity issue

trying to set up one drive sync on my mac for a o365 business account ... i followed the instructions outlined here: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/get-started-with-the-onedrive-for-business-next-generation-sync-client-on-mac-os-x-d11b9f29-00bb-4172-be39-997da46f913f?ui=en-us&rs=en-us&ad=us&fromar=1

but, when i choose a location to sync up, i get an error: Image

anyone run in to this? any fix for this?

Here are details on the file system in case it helps:

File System Personality:  Case-sensitive Journaled HFS+

Type (Bundle):            hfs

Name (User Visible):      Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled)

Tried using two different locations, and it does not work. However, it does work on an external drive that has case insensitive format.
