Office Professional 2003

Machine: new HP Pavilion with i3 3.70 GHz processor, 8 MHz memory

OS: Win.10

Question:

Have Office Professional 2003, Version 11.0.8173.0 (692 MB)

How do I tell if this version has SP 3 installed?

Also have 2007 Compatibility Pack version 12.0.6612.1000 (168 MB)

installed.  Does this affect or install the SP 3 Patch?

Thanks.

Answer
Answer

Start Word, look in the "About" dialog: Help menu > About command.

At the top of the dialog it will display the version, ie I have:  11.8411.8405 SP3

No, the Compatibility pack is separate from SP3.  The compatibility pack just adds ability to handle the new 2007 "x-file" formats.

You can download SP 3 from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8

It is "cumulative". That means includes all previous updates.  After you apply SP3, run Windows updates again to see if there are more, subsequent outstanding updates. There should be. You'll probably have to run Windows Update a few times to get them all.

Office 2003 is no longer Officially supported, so I don't know if they will still provide you with the existing outstanding updates you don't have.
