Office 365 opens Excel 2019

I have the monthly subscription to Microsoft Office 365 Personal; however all the Excel documents I open are going to Excel 2019. I thought this might have been because I had 2019 installed into my computer; however even after a hard reset of my laptop and downloading only Office 365, the SAME files open in Excel 2019 (without previously installing it)

I need 365 to complete my schoolwork; how do I get all files to open in the 365 version of the app?

Please open Control Panel - > Programs and Features - > Type Office on top Left corner and see if you are able to see Multiple versions of Office installed , If yes please remove which is not needed and reboot your computer.

I went to my Apps - Searched and found only one version, Microsoft 365.

This is after I had reset the computer and only installed 365.

What is next?

Please try to Open Excel or Word and see which version of Excel its opened.

Hello

If you have already hard reset of your PC and downloaded and Installed latest version of Office .

Then you should not be worried as its installed as per your Subscription.
