Office 365 Board Member Options

We are looking to purchase a board member portal like BoardPaq or OnBoard. We have been using Office 365 for almost a year and I'm debating if 365 could provide the basics of a similar, mentioned Board Portal by using a mixture of the stock 365 apps and/or third party apps.

Have any of you 365 users done this? If so, how did you go about it and what apps serve what purpose?

Thanks

Hi 1chunk1,

Based on my research, there are some articles are talking about some third party Board Portal Solutions which are integrated with SharePoint Online in Office 365, but rarely mentioning the BoardPaq or OnBoard.

Regarding Stock, there is an add-in app called Stock Connector, you can install it in Excel to link stock and currency prices to cells in your Excel spreadsheet and update them in real time.

Thanks for your understanding.

The referenced board portals seem like overkill; all we really need is shared documents and minutes and I feel this can be easily accomplished with OneDrive. I was looking for some insight to meet in the middle of portal overload and basic document sharing.

Hi 1Chunk1

I just see the introduction video about BoardPaq, it seems a system for document collaboration and meeting. If you need such a platform and require 3rd party apps integration, the SharePoint Online is the right one for you. OneDrive is mainly for personal usage while SharePoint Online is for organization collaboration and management. Besides, it allows many 3rd integration.

For SharePoint introduction, you can refer to this article.

For SharePoint Online license, you can refer to this page.

Thanks,

Rena

Would non employees and non O365 licensed users be able to access a private SharePoint group for collaboration?

Could they use their personal email addresses vs a new company email address? (That means we would have to license them to use this SP portal).

Hi 1Chunk1,

Non employees and non O365 licensed users are able to access contents in your SharePoint Online site collections for collaboration. They can use both their personal email addresses or company email addresses. You don’t need to purchase extra license to assign to them. They access the contents in site collection with permission assigned.
