Office 365 and Mimecast

We currently use Office 365 for our email and also use Mimecast for spam filtering etc. I would like to eliminate Mimecast and save a little money but want to know if Office 365 can deliver everything Mimecast does for us now. We use Mimecast mainly for spam filtering. Your input would be appreciated.

Hi Scott,

I would like to know which Office 365 plan you are using. Which kind of environment do you set up? Is it purely Exchange Online or Hybrid Deployment?

Here is the detailed information about the configure spam filter policies in Exchange Online. You can check the options to see whether it will meet your needs. Please refer to the article: Configure your spam filter policies

For your reference: Advanced Spam Filtering Options

If you need help or have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,
Shyamal

I'm not interested at this point to configure office365. I am interested to know if Office365 can deliver everything Mimecast delivers. I'm thinking about cancelling my Mimecast subscription but do not want to do it if Outlook365 cannot give me what I want

Hi Scott,

After checking, I found that “Mimecast” is used for keeping the emails to be safe. Given the situation, Office 365 has its own mechanism to keep the emails to be safe, which is called Exchange Online Protection (EOP). Office 365 EOP can detect the malware, anti-spam, filter connection and so on. You can refer to this article for the detailed information about Office 365 Exchange Online Protection (EOP).

After your comparison, you can decide whether you cancel “Mimecast” or not.

Also, if you have any further concern, please feel free to let me know.

Regards,
Alan

Hi Scott,

After comparison, does Office 365 EOP meet your needs? If so, please post back when you run into any problems during configuration.

Thanks,
