Office 2016 crashing after activating

When I start any Office 2016 app (Word, PowerPoint, Excel. etc) I get a pop-up that crashes the apps after I hit "accept." If close with the X the app just closes.

This is after activating using the Preview Product Key: NKGG6-WBPCC-HXWMY-6DQGJ-CPQVG

I have tried the repair, offline and online, and even uninstalled and reinstalled from scratch and this happens after activating with the product key.

I am installing this under Windows 10 Insider Preview 10158 if that makes a difference.

Hello,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community.

This issue description and the error message included in your post suggests that the issue is being caused due to some stubborn remnants of Office 2016.

In order to resolve this issue we will remove all remnants of Office 2016 completely and then try re-install Office 2016.

Follow the steps as per the following Microsoft Answers thread to remove Office 2016 remnants.

Note: the error mentioned on the above Microsoft Answers thread is different to your error, the suggested resolution should work for uninstalling Office 2016 remnants from your computer.

Once uninstalled make sure to restart your computer and try re-installing Office 2016 again. Check if you are able to activate Office 2016.
