November 12, 2019 Update Causing Chaos

I wanted to plead with the Microsoft Gods, please, please, please can you provide an earlier fix to this Security Patch that was sent out to Office on the 12th November.

We have over 1,000 installs of our Access DB and we are drowning in trying to support our users.  Microsoft have issued an update that this will be fixed on the 10th December.

Can anyone provide some glimmer of hope that a fix may be issued sooner?

latest build 20344 has caused some code not to run in Microsoft Access, code would run properly in Build 20272 but when upgraded to the new build released Nov 14 it stopped running. Unistalled office 365 and re-installed build 20272 everything fine

We have over 1200 installations accross 250 businesses.  Our phones were red hot yesterday dealing with very unhappy customers.

We have a work around which is uninstall the update, but there is no way of automating this for 1200 installations who are all in different organisations.

Utter chaos and could ultimatley ruin the business.

I hope you have added a comment with this information and vote on Matt's Feedback (use the link he provided).  Information like this is exactly what MS needs to light a fire under them to get the fix out as fast as possible. (hopefully without introducing more problems, like fall last year).

There will be published a fix sooner, though the date is unknown.

It will be in an 'out-of-band' non-security update.

Is that something that you know GustavBrock or is that assumed based on the size of the issue?

Maybe its wiser to invest in automatic removal of the problematic Office Update...either via GPO or via other means it should provide easy restore to normal than to wait for a patch ...

But John, these are not our organisations.  It is not within our purview unfortunately.  The process is that they contact our support team on the phone and we discuss the options with them - which broadly involved advising them to uninstall the updates.

We have of course provided as much advice as possible, including guides and help documents, but these are typically non IT literate users who do not have an IT department to support them.

We have explained that it is an issue caused by Microsoft, but they will of course blame the software vendor - e.g. us.

If we had an easy solution to uninstalling the patch we would take it...

I am afraid that this is a situation that you either spend some time finding a solution...e.g. developing a mini uninstaller or wait for Microsoft.
