Need to continuously delete SIP profile after adding new users to Skype for Business

Hello,

I am starting to roll-out new Skype For Business users, but I am running into an issues that occurs after every new install.  I'll outline it here.

1.  Install Office 365 Business Premium onto Bob's machine.

2.  Configure Bob's Skype for Business

3.  Install Office 365 Business Premium onto Ann's machine.

4.  Configure Ann's Skype for Business.

PROBLEM: 

Ann can see Bob's Presence, but Bob cannot see Ann's.  And the problem snowballs.

5. Install Office 365 Business Premium onto Ted's machine.

6.  Configure Ted's Skype for Business.

Problem: Ted can see Ann and Bob's Presence, but Bob can't see either Ann or Ted's presence.  And Ann can still only see Bob's presence.

WORKAROUND:  I need to delete the SIP profile off of every user's machine in order for everyone to see everyone else's presence.  This is not realistic and will take hours, weeks of work if I need to keep doing this as I roll Office 36 out.  does anyone know why this is happening or a better solution to fix it?

I should add, that what I am having to delete is the folder here:

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync\sip_%username%@snc.biz

Thanks for your detailed information about your post. Based on your description, may I know more information about your issue?

  1. Have you tried to check setting for presence privacy mode if you have admin permission: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Configure-presence-in-Skype-for-Business-Online-ce59ac0b-8115-4c6b-8174-e3aef982d3cb
  2. Would you mind provide a screenshot about “can’t see presence”? Is it presence unknown? Or presence is not display?
  3. Which client you can’t see presence? Outlook client? Skype for business?
  4. Whether these three people are internal? or external?
  5. Is it ok for you delete SIP profile? And please share with us.
  6. Can these three people see the presence each other on OWA (https://www.office.com/owa/ )? Sign in to Outlook Web App, then select your name at the top of the window, and click Sign in to IM, and you can check it.

Thanks for the reply.  I will try to answer your questions as best as possible.

1.  The settings are set to: "Automatically display presence information"

2.  It's "Presence Unknown" (see attached).

3. All clients (Outlook or Skype for Business)

4.  Everyone is Internal.

5.  Not sure what you mean here, but the fix is to delete the SIP profile off of each user's computer before they can see the newly added user to Skype For Business.

6.  I am not sure about this, I will need to check later today when I do another install and see how it works on that front.

If things continue, I will need to install the new user today and then go delete the SIP profiles off of the other 20 machines before they will see the new user's presence.

Thanks for your information, to narrow down your issue, may I know how many people have issue in your organization? You can also try

1.       Removed then added the user as a contact on other user's machine.

2.       Clear sign in cache on skype for business

About delete SIP profile, please share with us if you tried this way. You can also check these three user have issue from OWA (https://www.office.com/owa/ ) I mentioned before.
