Myanmar Unicode Fonts Typing Error

Hi,

I have a problem with myanmar unicode font (Pyidaungsu font). This problem is only found in One Note and not in word 2022 version.

Every time I type "တောင်" it becomes "တ‌ောင်". Every time I type "ကြာ" it becomes "က ြာ". These two are just examples. In fact, every word with "'‌ေ" and "ြ" is a problem. I do not think you can understand this problem if you are not Burmese.

My device is Dell Latitude e7470, and operation system is windows 10. Below is a link to Word to see the error in One Note. I hope I can solve this problem with your help.

Hello Kyaw Zin,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and appreciate your time taken for sharing detailed information. I understand that Myanmar Unicode Fonts Typing Error. I could share with you some of my thoughts on this issue.

Is there something wrong with the font itself? Or is it that Office itself is not compatible with this font, and the web version of Office will also have such a problem? This may not be a problem with some settings, but it is true that if some fonts are not decoded properly.

Feel free to post back if you need any further assistance.

Hello Mancy,

I appreciate your help. This font works fine with other softwares (Microsoft Word, etc..) and has a problem with Microsoft One Note.

A similar problem also occurs with One Note android (version 11). The answer to your question is that the font works well in the web version.

We hope to fix technical issues with Myanmar Unicode Fonts (Myanmar Text, Pyidaungsu font ...) in future versions.

Thanks,

Kyaw ZinImage

I now realize that Microsoft supports only our Myanmar Unicode in Phonetic Order way, mainly on their Apps (Android & iOS) as of their algorithm.
Visual Order Myanmar Unicode Typing is supported on some apps but not on Android & iOS for sure.
They make a mess with two systems for our Myanmar Unicode in my opinion.
Android & iOS support Myanmar Unicode in Visual Order I think.
If I am wrong, let me know.

Best regards,
Htet
