MS Word will not print custom pages

Thanks. I did some more playing around after my initial post and found that it's only the one document format that refuses to print custom pages. My other document formats print custom pages, so I don't think that it's the printer software. I think there must be some corruption in that document format.

It's a basic Word doc (church bulletin). I have a few variations but here is the basic file: Sample Bulletin

The document contains 11 sections. To print it correctly, you have to use the p1s1-p2s10 format, because the page number format of the fourth physical page is "page 2, section 10":

To remember the syntax, choose to display "Formatted page number" as well as "Section" number on the status bar in Word. To enable these options, right-click the status bar and click to select these options.

This is really helpful! Thank you. Is there a way to change the page numbers without essentially messing up the formatting? Because I'm guessing that inserting page numbers really won't do it.

Yes, simply add the Page field.

1. Go to where you want it (header or footer)

2. Press Alt+Shift+P or otherwise insert a page field

3. You can also use Insert>Page Number>Current Location but fancy formatting may or may not disrupt your formatting. You can always try one and use Undo if you don't like it.

As Charles wrote, you can insert a Page number field. You'll need to access a footer (or header).

The tricky part here is the number of sections in the document (each section has up to three footers and three headers). I take it you didn't intentionally create so many sections?
