MS Planner "You no longer have access to..."

My organisation is experiencing a problem with MS Planner, where an error message is displayed when attempting to attach files to tasks. The error message is "You no longer have access to #FILENAME#".

This happens when using planner in both teams, and via the web portal.

This happens for all users of a specific team/group.

This happens for newly added users of this specific team/group

It is not related to the computer, as each user has their own computer. We have also tested with a fresh machine.

The problem has exsisted for a few months, so it's not a new/temporary problem.

We can create a new group/team in planner, and we have the ability to attach files no problem, so it appears to be an issue only with that specific team.

What is causing this issue and what is the resolution?

Dear Daniel F_IT,

Thank you for posting your query in our community.

I understand your concern and would like to convey that according to my test, the files attached in Microsoft Planner are actually stored in the SharePoint site.If users do not have permission on the SharePoint site they won't be able to upload the attachments. So please to have further troubleshooting, please check the below steps

For more information click here --->>Attach files, photos, or links to a task - Microsoft Support

1. First, ensure that all users are added as members of the related group in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Find the group and verify their membership status to ensure they are listed as members.

2. Please proceed to the SharePoint site and navigate to the document library. Access the library settings and verify the permissions on the document library. Ensure that the necessary permissions are granted. If not, please grant permission to the relevant group.

If you have any additional questions or if you need any additional help regarding this or anything else at all - let me know, I'll be here to help you out.

And in the meantime, I hope you'll have a lovely day ahead, stay safe & take care!

Best regards,

Sophia
