Microsoft Search with Bing - Why can't I seem to download my search history?

I am trying to download my Search History with Microsoft Search in Bing. I can sign into the account and when I click on search settings I see a box telling me that I can download a CSV file to see the last 30 days of history. I click download on this and when I do it will download an excel file. So far so good. However, upon opening the fie it is empty and all that is shows is what I think is the BOW. I thought "maybe there is no search history?" and then proceeded to search a bunch of random times and try again. However, I still download a file that is seemingly empty when I click the "download" button. Any ideas why this isn't working? Anyone else experience this for their business account?

I know how to view my search history. I am asking how to download it where it actually shows the history. I can get to my search history by when I click "download" on the box that says "click download to download a CSV file of search history over the last 30-days" the file it downloads does not contain anything (even if I do it right after I search. for something).

No, this is from my own account/ It is just the "download" file that comes when you click that button from your own Microsoft search with bing history (the one that says it has the past 30-days or whatever).

I'm not trying to make you angry and ask that you bear with me. I'm asking questions to get this resolved.

1. Are you using Outlook 2016 Bing Search?

2. Are you using MSN Premium Software?

I'm trying to figure out where this CSV file comes into being.

I go to Bing.com

Click Settings > select History and am taken to the new webpage.

https://www.bing.com/profile/history?FORM=O2HV46

3. Is Show New Searches Here button Enabled?

Click on Go to Dashboard

Input your Security Key

You can view and clear search history on this page

I am not seeing a download button.

Since this is Microsoft Search with Bing for an organization account it does not have the same settings as traditional search settings in bing. It looks like the attached. You only see this if its an organization account, your typical account will not look like this.

There is a permission issue that's causing this to happen.

1. Check your Setup

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftsearch/quick-set-up

a. Which browser are you using?

b. Is it the Default Browser?

c. Is Bing the Default Search Engine?

d. What is the Operating System on the Computer?

2. Did you update Default Bookmarks as Advised in this Article?

https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Search-Blog/Microsoft-Search-in-Bing-Update-default-bookmarks-for-brand-name/ba-p/317232

Go to another computer an try to open the file in Excel.

Save it as another type of file

Open the newly saved file in Excel

You have posted in the wrong forum. Follow the steps listed above with answers to the questions I asked. I'm moving this thread to Microsoft Education Forum. The Experts there will want to test the file you saved as another type of file. Please be patient. They will assist you further in resolving the issue. Thank you.

Browser: microsoft edge

Default is this and its defaulting to bing.

operating system: windows 10

I do not use any bookmarks.

Tried the excel file in different accounts, different computers, different formats, etc.

I am somewhat confused as to how this is a permission issue? The file I download is a file, it is just empty and will continue to be unless I have a permission issue? I have tried this with many different accounts on different computers. I suppose my question here is if this is a permission issue then does that mean that the file I download is in fact empty? As I have a downloaded file, so it either is or is not empty I would think. if its not empty than a permission error shouldn't stop it since the file can either be opened or not based on permissions and this occurs even when I move the file to a flash drive and then open it (as in I open it but it is empty). Let me know if this doesn't make sense. I suppose my question is how could a permission error hide a file n this manner, that would make no sense? I suppose a permission error could make it so I cannot download the file, but not that I downloaded the file and it is blocked or hidden or something?
