Microsoft Onenote taking up too much Ipad storage

So I recently got a new Ipad and started taking notes on OneNote. I have used OneNote on a previous Ipad before to take notes but after taking approximately one page of notes OneNote storage jumped to around 40GB worth of storage on my Ipad. Why is OneNote jumping to crazy high storage numbers and is there any way to fix it?

Hi Matthew,

Sorry for the inconvenience the problem caused for you.

Based on your description, when you use OneNote on iPad, it will take up much storage.

To prevent data lose, please make sure all your content has been synced to OneNote Online before trying below steps.

You can try to Reset credentials for OneNote to check the result:

  1. In Microsoft OneNote for iPad, go to Settings on your device via tapping the gear icon in the upper right corner.
  2. On the Settings screen, under Account, tap the account name.
  3. Tap the account name again and then choose Sign out.
  4. Accept the notification that appears to confirm signing out.
  5. Double tap the device's home button, and swipe up on the OneNote app to close it .
  6. Start OneNote and sign in to your account.

If the problem persists, could you please provide some information for me?

  1. The version of the OneNote.
  2. If you create a new notebook, will the same problem happen?

Best regards,

Jazlyn

So i tried to follow the steps mentioned above and still seem to be having trouble. When i take any form of notes (written or typed) the storage space that OneNote occupies on my ipad goes up multiple Gbs. I have found that if I exit the app and then re-open it the storage space goes back down to its normal level. I’m not sure why the storage goes up so quickly and i have to close onenote multiple times in the course of taking just a few notes. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?
