Microsoft Office products not opening

During the microsoft update yesterday, our internet connection stopped working and internet connection is now restored.  We now can not open any microsoft product.  Here is the error message:

We're sorry but excel has run into an error that is preventing it from opening correctly. Excel will need to be closed as a result.  would you like to repair now?

Selected repair now; however, nothing happens and am not able to open any microsoft 2013 product.

UPDATE! 

After several attempts at finding a solution, I tried the following:

Control Panel, Programs, Programs & Features:  Right Click on Office 2013, click on Online Repair. 

It reinstalled the software and then asked for my email and password or gives the option of the product key.  I entered the product key and now everything works again, including the issue with Excel not opening documents directly but having to drag and drop them into a blank document.

Now, I just need to find out why my google chrome stopped working.  Thanks Everyone!
