Microsoft Office 365 expires and how to activate?

I have Microsoft word installed and the account the product belongs to has now expired. I have recently discovered that office 365 can be aquired for students if you have a student e-mail account, which i do. I set up the e-mail online and i am able to go on office online, but i do now know how install microsoft word on the computer. Whenever i go to try and "resolve", it does not let me and it gives me a strange prompt. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Omar,

If you get the error message after clicking Resolve and entering your school account, I’d like to explain that the Office suites from Office 365 for Business are different. In some scenarios, the account from different subscriptions cannot be used to activate the Office suite from another plan (e.g. the Office suite from Office 365 Business Premium plan cannot be activated by the account with Enterprise E3 license. The Office suite from Office 365 Home, Personal, University cannot be activated via the account with Office 365 for Business license).

You may try the two options below:

Option 1. The Office suite is not from Office 365 for Business Plan.

Renew the plan with the account which this Office suite belongs to (the account masked by yourself in the first screenshot).

Option 2. You don’t want to renew this plan and your school account has the related license for Office applications.

Access this page with your school account. Check if you can see “The latest desktop application of Office”. This is the license for the Office applications. If you can see it, access this page with your school account, download and install the Office suite. If you cannot see it, you may contact your school IT or tenant admin to check if they can assign you the related license.

Note: When you are sure that you can download Office suite from your school account. You may firstly remove the former Office suite with the easy fix tool in this article. Restart your computer and then install the new Office suite.

Best regards,

Tim
