Microsoft Defender PC Reboot False Positive Email.

Every time I reboot my PC I get an Email from Microsoft Defender from their *** Email address is removed for privacy *** email address with no explanation just a notification stating "A threat was found on the Windows device "HTPC2" on 11/9/2022. Open Microsoft Defender to take action right away." But when I open microsoft defender this is what I see. I have run Virus scans both online and offline along with root kit scans from multiple venders including Microsoft's own, with nothing detected. This has been going on for over a month now and I have reported it to Microsoft through the feedback hub and have gotten no response back. This needs a solution ASAP!

Hi my name is Ferdinand, I am an Independent Advisor.

Have you tried blocking the email address?
Microsoft does not send out notifications through email.
Please have that email address blocked from your email client.
And you can report it through this link

Are you referring to Microsoft Defender subscription-based application through Microsoft 365?

This was no Help! This email is from mydefender at microsoft dot com so it is from microsoft. If it was not it would have been blocked by now by their spam filter. If Microsoft is letting someone spoof their email domain @microsoft.com then they have huge problems!! Ferds I appreciate you trying but would appreciate it more if you would not comment on things you have no clue about. You waste people's time and give them false hope for a solution!

Yes as indicated by the actual headline stating Microsoft Defender along with the screen shots showing Microsoft Defender and not Widows defender. Sorry Ferds but thats kind of hard for you to miss!

See the response I just wrote on the last page (3) of the following thread, especially the part about why you'd get such answers in this consumer community forum.

I see on your profile page that you obviously already found this reply: Thread "Microsoft Defender Error" page 1: TimB101's reply on November 5, 2022 which states: "this is a common issue with Defender at the moment of which the Defender team are aware and we’re awaiting an update."

I do not know if this is only concerning Insiders or all users of Microsoft 365 and Office/Defender...
