Microsoft 365 lost access to Admin account

We are managing a small company that has about 10 users. When we brought them on we created an Admin account for them but that account has somehow lost Admin rights. I have worked with the person who had admin rights before and her account is now just a user account.

How do I figure out which account is now Admin and if need be reset the password to that account?

Hi Alt-Tech,

In the scenario you described, unfortunately, no one in this community could actually help you identify the admin account in your tenant.

AFAIK, the admin right won't be retrieved without manually input. If you have assigned the global admin rights to 2 users(or more), the global admin have the privilege to remove each other's admin role. Not sure, if this could be your scenario.

Anyway, as this is critical to your company, please make a phone call to the Microsoft Business support:

Contact support for business products - Admin Help

The support agent might ask you to provide the invoice or domain verification to prove your identify. Please work with them to find the admin account in your tenant.
