MAPI Failure when trying to share a Word doc to email attachment

@Ralph, could you confirm whether this behavior occurs with Snipping tool? (Open Snipping tool>capture a new screenshot>select the arrow next to the Send Snip button>select Email Recipient (as attachment)) Moreover, i found some related threads, please have a try to check whether it helps:

Just like to add a note, that this Issue is definitely Widely Known and current Build 1805 9330.2124 does not resolve this issue by itself.

Out of our hundred of clients, more than 20% of the deployed Office 365 (Office 2016) are having these issues. 

this happens within WORD, EXCEL and even ADOBE with MAPI Failure: Attachment Open Failure" or "MAPI Failure: Unspecified Error"

Full clean removal of click to run office can be performed and re-installed with the same errors. 

- we are all awaiting microsoft to respond to the error. but so far its noted thats its resolved

This is just an FYI and not a forum take over that this issue does indeed exist widely. There must have been a configuration performed by Office updates that has not been undone with future updates.

A newer version was released yesterday. Could you please update to the latest version to see if the issue still exists?

If the issue persists, please try to set up a working user account on the affected PC to see if the issue also happens. We need to isolate the issue to see if it is related to user account or not.
