With PowerPoint as it comes out of the box, you don't.  This ability is built into Word but not into PowerPoint.

However, there are add-ins that add this feature to PowerPoint.

Two I know of are:

My PPTools Merge add-in

and

John Wilson's Simple Merge

They're priced differently, have different features, so I'd suggest reading both web sites;  PPTools Merge comes as a fully functional demo version that you can try before you buy;  John will be along shortly, I'm sure, to mention whether he's got a demo, but even if not, there's a money-back guarantee.

We don't have demos but the money back guarantee is given if for ANY reason it doesn't work as you require. Steve's

Addin has many more features ours is basic but cheap!
