Markup isn't normally included when printing because the Markup Area is not a physical part of the document content. You can include the Markup by opening the Copies & Pages menu in the Print dialog & selecting Microsoft Word. On that Pane open the Print What menu & select Document showing markup.
Note that doing so will include all markup, not just Comments even if Simple Markup is selected for viewing. Also, contrary to what is suggested the Markup listing in the View menu has no bearing on printing a document. There is no built-in option for including only Comments.
In order to print only the Comments & Formatting [without other markup], just before printing:
- Make sure that Track Changes is turned Off
- Go to the Markup Options dropdown on the Review tab of the Ribbon:
- Clear all checks except the one for Comments
- Under Balloons select Show Only Comments and Formatting in Balloons
- In the Print dialog do as described in my first paragraph
