Just want to know how to get my inbox view back to normal.

Just want to get my inbox view back to normal where it displays full names. I was messing with something one day and not sure at all how this happened.. thanks.

Hi Andrew Godsil,

Please click on Inbox folder and go to View > Change View. I guess you have selected Single view, please change to Compact view.

Thanks,

Iry

See how the smaller panes are so compact with all the info? I just want to see the senders full name and not just their first initial.

Hi Andrew Godsil,

The easiest way should be clicking the "Reset View" button, it will remove all your custom setups and change it back to the default one, which has the full display name shown in message list.

If the issue still persists, may I trouble you to recapture a screenshot of the current appearance? Since it seems the screenshot in your second reply was not correctly uploaded.

Moreover, could you please go to File > Office Account to check the version? It looks like Version XXXX (Build XXXX.XXXX).

Feel free to share any updates at your convenience.

Regards,

Leo

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your update. Another method to reset all your views back to default is:

1. Close the Microsoft Outlook, and open the Run dialog box with pressing the Win + R keys.

2. Enter the outlook.exe /cleanviews in the Open: box, and click the OK button.

Note there is a space between outlook.exe and /.

If the issue still persists after this, I'd like to gather more info to further check if there is anything wrong with your Outlook. Please use a tool called PSR which can record every click you make on the screen.

After open it, I’d like to trouble you to click View tab > Change View > choose Compact. Then choose View Settings on the ribbon > choose Columns… > click OK > OK. Then you may stop recording and provide the file to me in PM (private message).

Here is a detailed introduction for how to use PSR:

1.Open Problem Steps Recorder by clicking the Start button , and then typing psr. In the list of results, click psr.

2.Click Start Record. Go through the steps on your computer to reproduce the problem. You can pause the recording at any time, and then resume it later.

3.If you want to add a Comment, click Add Comment. Use your mouse to highlight the part of the screen that you want to comment on, type your text in the Highlight Problem and Comment box, and then click OK.

4.Click Stop Record.

5.In the Save As dialog box, type a name for the file, and then click Save (the file is saved with the .zip file name extension).

Regards,

Leo
