Is there an expiration date on the Microsoft Office Home and Student?

Original Title: "My computer did not come with Microsoft office, so I purchase it and installed it.  Today it tells me that it has expired.  I did not realize there is an expiration date."

There is no expiration date on a purchased Office.

 

Your problem is either caused by:

 

1. Your machine came with a trial of Office and it is that which has expired.  Remove all versions of Office on the machine, reboot, and then re-install your purchased version.  Make sure you have the installation media and the Product key before starting.

or

2. You installed the copy of Office but did not activate it either online or by 'phone.  In this case your installation will go into reduced capability mode until you activate it.
