Is there a way to revert back to the LOOK of Microsoft Office prior to M365 without reverting back to a prior software version?

Is there a way to revert back to the LOOK of Microsoft Office prior to M365 without reverting back to a prior software version? My goal is to get back a better overall appearance (icons, overall color theme,).

You can choose between several color themes:

And you can choose between mouse mode and touch mode - the icons on the ribbon and quick access toolbar are spaced wider apart in the latter.

But that's it - you cannot revert to the look of older versions while keeping Microsoft 365.

Hi Sue,

Thanks for posting in the community. We are happy to help you.

Regarding your query, for Microsoft 365 products, Microsoft does provide a built-in feature to change the existing look. Please click open the Coming Soon pane from the megaphone icon in the upper right, then turn off the new experience. After that, you need to restart the Office application to check again.

If your Office product is not Microsoft 365 products, or both two interfaces don't meet your requirement, I recommend you send feedback to Microsoft via File> Feedback> I Don't Like Something. It's the platform for us to hear your voice and improve our products.

If my understanding conflicts with your meaning, please point it out and let us know.

I Cannot See the "megaphone" icon at Upper Right Corner.

Shared the Issue with Support as well but no reply so far.

There is no megaphone icon showing in Microsoft 365 version I downloaded yesterday. Does that mean I will never have the Coming Soon function?

The visual refresh has been incorporated into Office, and it can no longer be turned off, which is why the megaphone icon is no longer supported.
