Is It Possible to Have Two Versions of MS Access On Your PC?

I've currently got Office 365 for Business installed on my work PC, with Access 365. We've had a request to do some work on an old Access app, written in Access 2007. Is it possible to have both Access 2007 and Access 2016 installed on my work PC?

Or if not, is it possible to do development with an Access 2007 app, using Access 2016?

Answer
Answer

The real issue here is the developer.  Fundamentally, the Golden rule of development is to always do all development using the oldest version of Access that will be used to run the database.

So, if your organisation has users still running Access 2007, then IT needs to supply you with 2007.  So basically, I'd get my manager to dump the problem back in their lap.  Either upgrade users to a common version or provide (a VM) 2007 to developers.  This issue is solely an IT issue.

Another idea would be to get them to install the most recent version of the free runtime on the users PC.  This no cost incurred!

In all cases, no matter how you look at it, IT has to solve the issue.  You are a mere spectator.
