Internal login failure. Refer to server log for more information. Error Code: 0x800CCCD

Operating System: Windows 7 32bit

Microsoft Office 2010

 - MS Outlook 2010

When I am trying to send and recieve emails from the imap server I get this message below:

Internal login failure. Refer to server log for more information.
protocol. IMAP
Server: imap.netspace.net.au
Port: 143
Error Code: 0x800CCCD

I have tried everything here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813514
still not working

pop3 works fine sending and recieving

new profiles

new accounts

open ports

disable security software/firewalls etc

tried on another computer even still not working with imap

I must add that it does work sometimes but sometime I still get the error message. Even though it does work at times, it does show the error message alot all times of the day

I can definately tell this is an imap issue when communicating with the server using Outlook 2010. (I do not have another version of outlook to test).

Is there something else I can try or even better a fix/patch for noop command error?

Kind Regards, J

Hi,

Are you using the same Internet connections on both the systems?

Did you check with the ESP (Email Service provider) if the email account can be configured as IMAP?

Since it is not working on multiple systems, the problem is generally on the ISP’s end. It is better to get in touch with the ESP/ISP regarding the same and see what they have to suggest.

If you need further assistance with the issue, you can always reply and I’ll be happy to assist you.

Thank you

Hello Girish

I have checked with the ESP and the account can be configured with IMAP

This error seems intermittent and just annoying.

The service does work, emails can be recieved but the error pops up randomly at any given time.

I have found 2 cases similar to this where our clients are having these issues with Outlook. But the majority are not having issues with IMAP.

Is there anything knowen on your side with a specific version of Outlook causing these issues or can you recommend something else that we can look at in regards to this.

Thank you

Hello,

Thank you for replying.

Let us restart the system in Windows 7 clean boot and check how it works there.

Note: Make sure to restart the system back to Normal mode after troubleshooting.

Thank You
