In Publisher 2016 mailmerge - omit a line if the merge field is blank?

I would like to run the merge in such a way that any line which has a blank merge field would be omitted. Is it possible to do this? If so, how do I set it up?

for example, if I set the document up this way, and the only line that returns a merge field is the second one:

hand quilting by

machine quilting by

longarm quilting by

computerized quilting by

I would like the merged document to only print this part:  machine quilting by Cindy Lou

Thanks in advance!!

Hi Cbarron,

You are right, if you type text instead of field, the text will stick there. Therefore, to approach your goal, you have to type the names in the actual fields manually.

After that, you may have some blank lines where the field has no value. To not show empty field line, you can follow steps below:

  1. Under Home Tab, Click the special characters button

     2. Go to Pint View, check the “save settings with publication” option.
