My Gmail account is configured as an IMAP account in Outlook 2016 which i own, not 365 . I was told by MS that if i delete emails in outlook or gmail that it will synch and delete to the other account automatically, basically a carbon copy of each other. I need more space and deleting newsletters and unwanted clutter / promotions.
I noticed that when I delete 5000 messages from my mailbox in Outlook, that it does not remove them from Gmail, in fact they start downloading / synching from gmail again - which slows down my laptop.
Is there a way to set it up or a setting, so that when I delete it from Outlook directly its simultaneously deleting from Gmail, permanently? it's easier to sort and delete in outlook than gmail.... if it worked properly.
Please advise.
thanks
Lonny
