I have Microsoft Word for Mac version 16.90.2, licensed through my Microsoft 365 subscription. my word docs will not print. How do I resolve this?

I have Microsoft Word for Mac, Version 16.90.2 and it is licensed through Microsoft 365 Subscriptions. I am under the impression it is the up to date version. None of my Word docs will print, old ones or new ones. When clicking the icon at the top of the page or clicking print from the drop down menu or pressing command P, nothing happens. Absolutely nothing happens, nothing whatsoever. Excel docs print fine and so do web pages, but nothing happens with Word Docs. How do I resolve this issue?

As per the description, I understand that the print unresponsive behavior only happens in Word application while other Office apps or webpages are fine to print successfully and correctly.

In this situation, since you have mentioned Word is updated to the latest version, please help to confirm the below information to see if we can work together to narrow down the situation.

1. Remove the Word folders from Containers folder in Library with following steps.

a: Completely quit all Office apps

b: In Finder, press COMMAND +Shift+G

c: Enter ~/Library and click Go

d: Go to Containers folder, find the folder called Microsoft Word

e: Drag this folder to your desktop

f:  Relaunch Word for Mac application and check if it can print.

2. If persists, please reboot Mac in safe mode that determine whether background programs are causing the issue.

3. As suggested in Troubleshoot printing problems in Microsoft 365 apps - Microsoft Support. Please try to Reset printing system from Apple menu>System Preferences>Printers & Scanners. Press and hold the Control key as you click in the list at the left, then choose “Reset printing system” from the menu that appears. After you reset the printing system, the list of printers in Printers & Scanners preferences is empty. Then Re-add any printers.
