Hello Jim Heet,

Thanks for reporting this issue in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you've encountered a problem of unusual sign-in activity, and I understand your worry. It seems that people around the world who are not you have tried to log in to your Microsoft account without success. If my understanding is wrong, please point it out.

You can login https://account.live.com/activity and check your sign-in activities. Choose This wasn't me if the activity wasn't yours or you're just not sure if it was you. We'll help you to protect your account from unauthorized access. For more information about this page, you can see What is the Recent activity page? - Microsoft Support.

In order to keep your account safe, I recommend that you use the following steps:

  1. Go to the Security settings page where you can change your password and update security settings.

  2. Use the Microsoft Authenticator. For more information, see How to use the Microsoft Authenticator app - Microsoft Support.

  3. Add or update your security info on the Security basics page.

  4. Make sure your operating system has the latest updates.

  5. Never reply to email asking for your password. Microsoft will never ask for your password in email.

  6. If you lose or give away a device that you use to sign in to your Microsoft account, or if you know that someone else has access to your devices for whatever reason, be proactive and remove the trusted status from your devices.

To remove trusted devices, go to the Security basics page, select more security options, scroll down to Trusted Devices, and then select Remove all the trusted devices associated with my account.
