How to use an A1,A2,A3 sequence for one level in a multi level list in word

Anyone know how to configure word to allow this kind of a list format using the multi level list feature:?

A.   First item on level one of a list

A1. 

A2. 

A3. 

B.  Second item on level one of a list

B1. 

B2.

B3.

B4.

C. Third item on level one of a list

C1.

c2.

Step by step instructions for setting up your numbering can be found here:

This method may seem a bit of work but not using it for important work is asking for trouble. Once you have it set, you can save a template with it and use that template for new documents where you need good numbering that can survive editing.
