How to set Excel Online regional settings?

Some Excel Online file had regional settings set to US, which use M-D-Y as a date format. Some D-M-Y as date format. I prefer to use D-M-Y as my default date format. How to change regional settings?

Thanks.

Hi Kueakul,

The option to modify the date format and make it as a default is limited to the Excel app. With that, I recommend posting your request in the Excel UserVoice. This department collates suggestions and feedback from the customer which helps us know what to improve in the Microsoft services.

Should you need any additional assistance, feel free to post your queries anytime.

My file will change date format everyday one day it's d-m-y the next day it's m-d-y. I can't do use it like this.

Thank you for your response. You mentioned that your file will change dates every day. I'd like to know, are we working on shared Excel files? If not, does the issue only occur on a specific file?

The default date format differs depending on the Region or location. This why it is best if you post this issue in the Excel UserVoice.

Disclaimer:

A workaround that we have is for you to change the region on your Microsoft Account (e.g. English (United Kingdom). However, it will affect the PC and other Office apps, not just the Excel Online. If you want to continue and use the workaround, you may check your inbox. I have sent you a private message providing a workaround on your concern. Kindly go to Profile name > My Profile > View private messages.
