Shakira,
Thanks for the suggestion but it did not work. More info: There is a small red box in the lower left corner and when the cell is clicked a symbol like a cross appears, one like you use to change the width of a column. Does this help?

I am not familiar with creating a screen shot. Sorry. There is noting in the cell that I can find when accessing the formal bar. A screen shot would really help you. Is it really that hard to do?
Thanks for working with me!

Hi JamesFirestone! Thank you for writing back. I'm sorry, the screenshot would exactly show how the cell looks. Is it possible to copy the entire content of the excel sheet to another sheet? so you can then remove or delete the spreadsheet with the issue. Kind Regards, Shakiru

Shakiru,
I will completely delete the worksheet and start a new one ( not losing much so it is no problem) and will explore the screen shot solution. Please stay with my posts as I will be responding.
So much appreciate your time!

Hello Shakiru,
I have backtracked my spreadsheet work and found out what happened. I wanted to copy a cell and clicked Ctrl + alt + C and moved to a new cell then clicked Ctrl + alt + V, but nothing copied into the cell. That's when the green boarder with the small "fill handle" appeared in the lower left corner. I also deleted the spread sheet, opened a new one, clicked a cell and the boarder was still there. I found a discussion of this procedure in the Paste Options using Ctrl+alt+V. It list many Paste options. All I want to do is cut and paste text material, no formulas, by using the Ctrl+X,or C, and Ctrl+V keyboard shortcuts. This must be an update I'm not aware of. My desire is to remove this selection and all formula recognitions, I do not use formulas in my work and when a number is used, it is recognized as part of a formula. This, I think, created to problem. The program see's a number in the cell as part of a formula when cut and paste keyboard shortcuts and made. I'm checking to see more information about Office 365 program's additions.
I am having printer and other issues with my computer and am getting it worked on this Thursday which will leave me off line for a couple of days.
Please keep me in communications with you!
Thanks,
James
