how to install copilot in Office 365

Dear Luis_Eduardo_C

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We understand that you want to use Copilot in Microsoft 365 programs.

According to your description, you should have subscribed to Microsoft 365 products. Before responding to you in detail, we need to confirm more information with you:

  • Is your Microsoft 365 product subscribed by yourself or is it a license shared with you by others for you to use?

  • If you subscribe to the product yourself, how much is the specific product fee when you subscribe by yourself?

  • What is your specific product version? Microsoft 365 Personal or Family? Or other versions?

If possible, you can share with us a screenshot of your order record so that we can further help you confirm the information.

Before I reply to you in detail, I need to explain to you about the use of Copilot in Office programs:

Due to the update of Microsoft 365, your subscription fee will increase in the new subscription and Copilot and AI functions can be directly included in the Office program. However, if your subscription fee is still Microsoft 365 Classic and you have not changed your subscription, you cannot use Copilot directly and need to subscribe to Copilot Pro separately.

Copilot is now in Microsoft 365 Personal and Family - Microsoft Support

At the same time, if your Microsoft 365 Family is shared with others, the Copilot feature will not work under your account and program. This is because Copilot is only available to subscription owners and cannot be shared with others.

Frequently asked questions about Copilot in Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscriptions - Microsoft Support

If you confirm that your subscription and version information are correct, your Copilot features can usually be displayed directly in the Office program and help you use them. You can try to confirm that the online experience is turned on in your Office program to help confirm use.

  • Open the Microsoft 365 application (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Outlook).

  • Select File > Account.

  • Under Account Privacy, select Manage Settings

  • Select "Turn on optional connected experiences"

  • Restart the Microsoft 365 application
