Inserting Angle Symbol in all versions of Microsoft Word is super easy. Here's how you can do that:
1. Click on the ‘Insert‘ tab available on MS Word Ribbon.
2. Click on the ‘Equation‘ button.
Make sure to click in the middle of Equ Equation button. If you click on the down arrow icon available on the same tab, then it will show you some mathematical equations.
3. On this screen, the MS Ribbon will show you a ‘Symbol‘ section. By default, it will show you ‘Basic math‘ symbol.
4. Angle Symbol comes under ‘Geometry‘ symbol, so you need to switch from Basic math symbol section to Geometry symbol section. For that, click on the ‘More‘ icon.
Now click on the down arrow icon next to Basic math. This will show you a list of different symbol categories. Just select the Geometry.
On the MS Ribbon, the symbol section will show you the Geometry symbol. Here you will also find the Angle symbol.
Just click on the Angle symbol to insert it into the Word document.
Note: In the above steps, I have used Microsoft Word 2007. In case, you use a newer or older version of MS Office, then again you need to follow the same steps.

If all you need is the degree symbol (i.e. º), hold down the Alt key and type 0186.

Go to Insert | Symbol | Symbols and choose More Symbols... In the Symbol dialog, select Cambria Math as the font. Then scroll down to the Mathematical Operators character subset. There you will find Angle (2220), Measured Angle (2221), and Spherical Angle (2222). Alternatively, in your document, type 2222 and press Alt+X.
