How to Convert a PDF to Word for Editing (Contract Template)

I found a PDF file of a previous contract template that I need to update for my business. However, I can't find the original Word document. I tried using Edge, but it won’t let me edit the PDF.

How can I make the PDF easy to edit like a Word document? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi, Robert

Just right-click the PDF > Open with > Choose another app. Select Word, click it once, then hit “OK” on the pop-up. After a moment, the PDF will be converted to a Word document with OCR, and you'll have an editable file.

Of course, some tweaks might be needed, depending on the layout of the PDF.

Try PDF software to handle such documents. Adobe Acrobat is a nice choice if you don't mind paying.

If the layout of the PDF document is not too complex, PDFgear is a free choice. I think most contracts do not have complex layouts.
