How do I print a markup without the Comments printing in the margin? (Word for Mac)

Currently using Word for Mac (Version 16.67).

I would like to print a document that includes tracked changes. In a prior version of Word, I could select the markup option that showed all changes inline, including comments, and it would also print that way. However, I cannot figure out how to print this way using the new version of Word - even when I deselect "show comments," they still appear in the margin on the printout. I do not need to see the comments in my printout, and including them reduces the size of the document and makes it harder to read.

How do I print my document WITHOUT the comments, but WITH the markup showing the changes (e.g., insertions and deletions)?

This is another aspect off the Modern Comments as they're called... That option has been lost, at least for the time being. Use Help> Feedback to plead your case to Microsoft. You probably won't get a personal reply but Feedback does go directly to & is tracked by the development team.

As a workaround:

  1. Make sure you have a current backup copy

  2. On the Review tab click the Delete button in the Comments group & select Delete All Comments in Document

  3. Print the document

  4. Use Command+Z to Undo the deletion of the Comments.
