How do I prevent "Bing Lookup" from saving its search history to Bing's search history?

I am not sure if this is a question for Bing, or if it is a question for Microsoft Edge, but here goes.

Viewing a web page using Edge, I highlight a word and right click on it. In the right click menu there is an option "Bing Lookup". There is a slight problem using Bing Lookup. Although I have search history turned off in Bing, if I use Bing Lookup as I described above, it saves it to Bing search history.

So, how do I prevent "Bing lookup" from saving its search history to Bing's search history?

Thanks.

Hello,

Are you sure it says Bing Lookup or is it Smart Lookup tool for Office 2016?

Try disabling Search History in Bing.

The Insights panel has two basic options: “Explore” and “Define.” The former contains basic search results, while the latter provides a word definition if Bing has one on file.

It seems perhaps you are referring to something used within Office. What I am referring to is when using Microsoft Edge and is shown in the right click menu as Bing lookup.

Thanks though.

Do you have Microsoft Office installed?

I've followed the steps you provided - highlighting a word > right click the options I see using Microsoft Edge are

Ask Cortana

I have Office 365.

I do not have Cortana enabled. Perhaps that's why it shows Bing lookup. The rest of the right click options that you see are the same that I see in Edge.

I believe it's the "Smart Lookup" feature that's associated with Office.  Moved you to Office Forum for assistance.
