How do i disable the bing maps search function in O365 Outlook Calendar?

I went into the settings to manage add-ins and i disabled the add-in Bing Maps, but when I go to create a new meeting in Calendar and start typing in a location it continues to run the add-in.

Hi,

The Bing Maps add-in becomes available in an email that contains an address, and you can use it to check the online map to that location right from your email. Some add-ins are installed by your email administrator, but you can install other ones from the Office Store. Since you were able to disable the add-in Bing Maps already and still it runs when you create a new meeting in the Outlook Calendar, we recommend that you run a repair. This is being done if an Office application is acting differently as it should be. Please check the steps on this link.

Hi,

Bing Maps is a part of Office and is integrated with Outlook. It is a helpful feature that will help you see a person’s address right away while using this application. You can disable or re-enable it by following the steps below:

  1. Press Windows + S to open Search Box.
  2. Type Outlook 2016, then click it.
  3. Click File, then click Manage Add-ins.
  4. Wait for the Outlook.com web application to load.
  5. Make sure that the Bing Maps is unchecked to disable it.

This add-in is installed by default. You can disable it, but you can’t uninstall it permanently.

Let us know if this works for you.
