How do I create a catalog in word with one item per page automatically?

I have a stack of photos who's file names are numeric in sequence.  I want to create a macro that will open a new document increment a number in a field in that document, insert 1 photo then save the document and repeat the process until all the photos have been inserted, one per document and all documents saved.

To be honest, you won't find the capability you're looking for because that isn't what a word processing program is designed or intended to do :-) You might consider other types of software, such as page layout (Desktop Publishing) or some of the graphic design programs which provide the features for photo albums & other projects of that type.

If you really are using Mac Word 2011, then you cannot use any macros: Office 2008 does not contain the VBA platform.  Office 2011 has it, as does 2004, but not 2008.

You may be able to do this in AppleScript, but I do not know how.
