The easiest way is to do a
File > Save As and choose Plain text.
Alternatively you can copy and paste your text into
Notepad (you will find this under Programs > Accessories).
Both of these methods will strip the text of all formatting (such as bullets, bold, underlining, etc.) to its raw format which is basically
what ASCII is.
