This problem sometimes happens and one of our customers shared their experience in the forum. The customer contacted the dedicated tech support of outlook for Mac, was told the delayed sync behavior is the expected behavior. Because Gmail is synced
first from Gmail account to the Microsoft Cloud, and then from the Microsoft Cloud to Outlook on your Mac. This all takes a while and is responsible for the delay. For more information please refer to

It was possible to manually configure Outlook on Mac to directly receive your email from Google via IMAP, without using the Microsoft cloud, which would solve the problem. However, if you did that, you would lose the ability to sync your Google calendar
and contacts to Outlook.
