Free Project file viewer

As per your description, please don’t worry, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.

Microsoft has never released a free, downloadable viewer for Microsoft Project files.  However, there is many third-party free web-based viewers.

To view Project information without having Project installed on your computer.

For Online (Bowser based) using Project Web Access: If your organization is using Microsoft Project Web App, you can ask the project manager to publish the project and then give you permission to view the project. Then you can view the project in Project Web App.

Or you can obtain a trial version of Project. You can then open the project using the trail version.

Note: Project doesn't have a viewer program that enables you to open a project file on a computer that doesn't have Project installed.

There are a couple of free web-based viewers available for Microsoft Project files. They include:

https://ganttpro.com/free-online-microsoft-mpp-project-viewer/

I have not used either of these products so I cannot recommend either of them from personal experience. Hope this helps.
