Footer in Word document not showing

Hi,

I have a problem with Word 2016.

I have a document with headers and footers, but they are not showing.

I am able to find them with the Search function, so they are present in the docuement, but still they are not showing.

The  Show white space between pages in Print Layout view is already activated.

I've also tried to change the font color to check if it was white, but nothing.

Can you please help me?

Thanks.

Are you looking at the document in Print Layout View?

If you send me a copy of the document, referencing this thread in the covering email message, I will investigate the issue.

Hope this helps,

Yes, I'm in Print View.

I can't send you the document, it is a work document and I signed a NDA.

Could you please try to suggest something that I can try?

Thanks.

What is the content of the footers?

Try going to File>Options>Advanced>Show document content and check the box for "Show drawings and text boxes on screen".

Is the font formatted as hidden?

If you turn on the display of Hidden Text (File>Options>Display), do you then see the footers?

Run a macro containing the following code to format the footers so that the font in them is not formatted as hidden:

With ActiveDocument
    For i = 1 To .Sections.Count
        With .Sections(i)
            For j = 1 To .Footers.Count
                .Footers(j).Range.Font.Hidden = False
            Next j
        End With
    Next i
End With

Hope this helps,
