Excel crashing with custom sort

Excel crashes when I try to do a custom sort.  I have Microsoft Office Home and Business 2016 for Mac.  I get an error message telling me that there was a problem and Excel shut down.

Version meant something like 15.41, 16.11 etc..You can find this in by opening Word > About Word (or open any other MS Office app)

To add to what Vijay Verma is getting at, please make sure your Office version is completely up-to-date Office for Mac is currently on 16.11.1.

Thank you for clarifying that for me.  When I do the check for updates I get the message "There are no updates for your Microsoft software at this time.  Please check again later"

I've seen this happen before personally. You might have to update your Microsoft AutoUpdater in order to see the updates. Optionally, you can install the updated applications individually. I'm placing two links below. The first one is the link for the updated AutoUpdater. The second link is for the files to download applications individually.

Minimum version supported on High Sierra is 15.39. Please upgrade your Excel.
