I'm having the same problem, I think it's due to Microsoft Project and Visio still being installed. Can you pls advise how to uninstall these two programs. The first time I ran the easy fix uninstall it uninstalled the whole office suite but not Project and Visio.

So before I can reinstall I need to uninstall Project and Visio first.

Dhruv:

In your screen cap you show clean up running also. Do you get the same error code after restarting the computer and trying again?  Did you try clicking on the "Go online for additional help" link?  Please give us the link to the web page it called up.

Unfortunately this is a new error code to me and it is also unfortunate that this is another typically useless error "message". Rarely, MS programmers made "mistakes" and actually provided useful trouble shooting information in the message text. But not this time.

I googled the error code and found this suggestion on a non MS Support site we are not allowed to refer to

Steps to resolve Office Error Code 30068-4 (3)

A. Cleaning temp folder

  1. Press and hold the Windows key together with the letter ‘R’.
  2. When the Run window opens, enter the command “temp”, without quotes, and hit Enter key.
  3. Now, you will have Explorer Window with the temporary system files folder open.
  4. Select any file or folder in the open Window and then press and hold the ‘CTRL’ and alphabet ‘A’ together.

  1. Now, right click the highlighted files.
  2. While holding down the ‘Shift’ key, select the option “Delete” from the pop up menu.

  1. If you are prompted to click on ‘Yes’ or ‘Allow’ or ‘Continue’, select the check box to the left bottom corner of the pop up window and then click on the visible button mentioned.
  2. Repeat the step 7. If the pop ups continue for more than a few times, select the option to the left bottom corner of the pop up window and click on ‘Skip’ and repeat the same.
  3. Once the deletion is complete, you may close the Temp folder window and continue to next step.

B. Cleaning %temp% folder

The steps to clean the user related junk files is to follow the same steps above to clean the temp folder as above, where the command ‘temp’ is replaced with “%temp%”, without quotes.

C. Clean Up System Files

  1. Press the Windows key and the ‘R’ key together to open the Run command window.
  2. Now, enter the text “cleanmgr”, without quotes.
  3. Then, select the hard drive partition from the drop down in the pop up window and click on ‘OK’ button.
  4. Once the scan for junk data is complete, select the items from the list, except the Recycle Bin.
  5. Click on ‘OK’ button and wait for the cleaning operation to complete.

D. Clearing Internet Explorer junk files

  1. Press and hold the Windows key and the letter ‘R’ at once.
  2. In the Run window, enter the command ‘inetcpl.cpl’ and then press Enter key.
  3. Now, click on the ‘Advanced’ tab on the Internet Options window.
  4. Then, click on the reset button.
  5. Now, select the option to delete the personal settings in the pop up window.

Wait for the reset to complete and then continue to the next step.

Now, you may check if the Windows 30068-4 (3) error code is fixed.

If by any change, the error code 30068-4 (3) is not fixed, then the issue is critical and data loss can occur. A single corrupt component can affect the hardware and software.

No one ever will help, I trolled the web and everybody is talking bogus solutions...M$ does not know how their lame installer work...

The reason for this error is the diagcab fix file will remove everything, except the "ClickToRunSvc", which will be left in ZOMBIE state. The service will be listed in services.msc MMC console, but in a **** up state that won't run or be enumerated.

The real fix?

- Open CMD

- Type

sc delete ClickToRunSvc

- Hit Enter.

Setup will now run without issues.

The lame installer is unable to detect this issue, it detects the zombie service so it refrains from reinstalling the service WITHOUT TESTING ITS ZOMBIE STATE, else, it would have been able to fix it like you would.

cheers :)

M.K.
